Civic Learning and Engagement (Two-Part Series)

A 21st century education is one that prepares students for leadership and to act as informed participants in democracy. Through structured civics and service-learning experiences, students can develop the skills necessary to take on those roles. For 21st CCLC programs, the key is delivery of high-quality civic learning and engagement (CLE) activities. In this two-part webinar series, the U.S. Department of Education’s Youth for Youth (Y4Y) Technical Assistance Team will support you in planning successful CLE activities. On day 1, we’ll cover the basics of civics education and developing activities for students. On day 2, we’ll explore how to incorporate multiple viewpoints in your learning spaces along with best practices for facilitating projects.
