Creating a Reflective Assessment – Middle and High School

Reflective assessments encourage students to consider what they’re learning, how they learn, and how to connect what they’re learning to their lives. Reflection can move students from asking What’s the answer? to considering the larger “so what” question: Why does this matter? You can use reflective assessments to help students understand how they learn best and how to advocate for their needs. This can help them become more purposeful and effective learners and thinkers.
