As a resource for 21st CCLC practitioners, the Y4Y team has identified a series of higher education opportunities relevant to out-of-school time (OST) careers and ongoing professional development. This page lists accredited college or university programs across the United States that offer classes, professional certificates and/or degrees administered in-person and/or online.
21st CCLC practitioners and leaders interested in higher education opportunities are encouraged to explore the programs listed on this page and determine applicability to their professional role or career path as well as consider time commitments and costs before applying and committing to any program. Please direct any questions about a program on this page to the corresponding institution.
The Great Plains IDEA Youth Development program is a recognized leader in professional development and advanced degrees in Youth Development. Students select one university to be their "home institution", this is the university to which you apply, enroll and pay tuition. Students must meet the admissions requirements of the home institution.
Courses are taught fully online by faculty from each of the partner universities. Each degree or certificate includes courses taught by multiple universities who partner together to offer degrees they could not offer alone. When you complete your coursework, the degree or certificate is awarded by your home university.
