Incorporate Multiple Perspectives

ASDchpt 2p5

Help students to understand that every issue can be seen from at least two points of view, and usually more. Wind turbines may cut down on pollution, but they can also be considered an eyesore, harm birds, and reduce the value of nearby homes. New roads may help with transportation issues, but they also cost a great deal of money that must come from higher taxes and result in higher speeds increasing gas consumption.

Whenever students investigate issues it’s important that they learn about not just one, but many different points of view. See the Incorporating Multiple Viewpoints Checklist for more guidance.
