Facilitating Self-Directed Learning

A Challenge Scenario!

How can you help a colleague become more comfortable with facilitating project-based learning?

Imagine you’re a 21st CCLC site coordinator of an elementary afterschool program. Anna is a talented, outgoing activity leader on your program staff who’s more than willing to advance project-based learning with her students.

But there’s an issue...

This is Anna’s first time facilitating project-based learning, and she isn’t sure how to keep students focused and productive within a structure that gives them a lot more leeway than usual. After the students have left for the day, she approaches you with her concerns.
