Exercise: Reflect on Current Partners

Think about your program. In My Notebook, list your current partners. You may wish to use the list of types of partners on the previous page to help you. Then list how each partner contributes to your program. In a sentence or two, reflect on the value your partners offer your students and families.

Here's an example:

Type of Partner My Partners Contributions to Our Program
Local business IT consulting firm We arrange for many of our high school students to attend internships as part of a work readiness program.
Museum Science center There is a science center near our town, with a program for lending kits of science materials you can use in your program.
Health-based organization Nurses from the local hospital They come to our program once every few months to speak to parents about health and wellness. In the past, they led a family night on stress reduction techniques.
Arts organization Community theater league Last year, some local actors worked with our students to put on our first play, which was performed live in front of parents and community members.

Reflect on This

You may spot areas where you would like additional partner support. Jot down your ideas about new partnerships.
