Adult Development Activities

FIchpt 3p4

The first type of family engagement activity helps parents and caregivers learn and gain education and job training, and other useful skills for themselves. When parents pursue their own education, they are better equipped to help their children, and they set an example for the importance of lifelong learning. Examples include the following:

  • GED classes
  • English as a second language classes
  • Job skills training
  • Parenting classes
  • Family literacy programs
  • Computer classes
  • College or career-based courses
