NASA STEM Design Challenges
Explore three new NASA STEM Design Challenges and discover an exciting set of resources to help you engage students in the engineering design process.
Participants in this collaboration with NASA will learn about the unique set of challenges NASA faces as it charts our course for new destinations and the creative solutions that result, benefitting all humankind.
A day-long train-the-trainer workshop for representatives from each participating site provides the tools needed to develop dynamic NASA STEM professional development for your staff.
Online instructor-led and on-demand sessions will provide straightforward, practical, how-to training for instructional staff to guide students through each phase of the design challenges.
All challenge content is available online including step-by-step instructional guides, videos, and checklists to ensure student success.
Through the challenge, middle school students will have opportunities to connect with NASA’s scientists and engineers to get feedback on their designs, ask questions, and learn what it is like to work at NASA. Students will then create a 3-5 minute video documenting their response to NASA’s challenge. NASA will choose the top entries and invite those students to connect once more in a special recognition event.
